Parawood, also known as Rubberwood, is an environmentally sound choice as it utilizes plantation trees that have reached the end of their latex production cycle. These trees are then replaced with new growth, making it a renewable resource. Parawood's latex production begins when the trees are around 5-6 years old and continues until they reach 25-30 years of age. Growing to a height of 75-80 feet, these trees are extensively used in furniture manufacturing.

Originating from Central America, India, and Indonesia, Parawood boasts the scientific name Hevea Brasiliensis. It has a density of 7+ (similar to Birch at 7 and Ash at 8) and is classified in the B6 strength group, on par with maple.
