From the Manufacturer: Introducing Parawood
Parawood, also known as Rubberwood, is an environmentally sound choice as it utilizes plantation trees that have reached the end of their latex production cycle. These trees are then replaced with new growth, making it a renewable resource. Parawood's latex production begins when the trees are around 5-6 years old and continues until they reach 25-30 years of age. Growing to a height of 75-80 feet, these trees are extensively used in furniture manufacturing.
Originating from Central America, India, and Indonesia, Parawood boasts the scientific name Hevea Brasiliensis. It has a density of 7+ (similar to Birch at 7 and Ash at 8) and is classified in the B6 strength group, on par with maple.

Durability: Parawood is a durable, strong, tough, and resilient material. With proper care, Parawood furniture can last for many years.
Low Maintenance: Parawood can be cleaned using the same methods as any other wood furniture. It is recommended to wash it annually with a soap and water solution, ensuring to thoroughly dry it with a clean cloth, as standing water can damage the finish.
Versatility: Parawood can be purchased unfinished or pre-finished, allowing customers to stain or paint it to their desired style.
Ecological Soundness: Parawood is plantation-grown, promoting ecological balance. For every tree harvested, a new one is planted as a replacement, maintaining the natural harmony.
As a 30+ year old company, International Concepts has proudly transitioned to an Employee Owned model in 2017. Based in Thomasville, North Carolina, the company employs over 300 dedicated North Carolina craftsmen, committed to providing high-quality, beautiful home furnishings.
Product Details
Parawood is one of the most widely used woods in modern home furnishings due to its fine texture, light color, high durability, and exceptional renewability.
To protect the finish, it is recommended to wipe up spills immediately and ensure thorough drying, as even the best finishes can eventually allow water to seep through and damage the furniture.
To prevent damage, use coasters, trivets, placemats, or tablecloths to protect wood surfaces from heat and moisture. Avoid placing hot items directly on the surface and protect it when writing by using a writing pad.
The best way to prevent fading or discoloration is to keep the furniture away from direct sunlight, as UV exposure can gradually damage the appearance over time.
